There were two good games on national television last night (Boston was too shorthanded to put up a real fight). Before I get to my picks I want to go over a few things that stood out to me in the games I watched. First, how great is it to see Derrick Rose back on the court? The Bulls have done a good job of playing through injuries, thanks in large part to a solid system and great coaching. But Chicago is a completely different team with Rose on the court, and not just because of his production. The team plays with more energy and enthusiasm, which was evident yesterday in the win over the Hawks. The other game that stood out to me was Trail Blazers at Lakers. The Lakers front court dominated the game like I expected, but what I didn’t expect was the lackluster play of the Blazers. This is a bad sign for Portland as the team’s quality of play plummets away from the Rose Garden. If they want to make noise going forward they will need to put in more effort on the road.

There are two games on NBA TV tonight (Sacramento Kings at Miami Heat and San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers). I’ve made picks for each game that are available only to members. Sign in now to see what I’ve got today, or become a member ASAP.
